Western Desert
The Western Desert occupies a huge area of Egypt, on the side of the Nile that symbolized death. The western lands were where the sun god Ra went to die each day, and where the souls of the pharaohs went following their entombment. It's harsh and deserted... but contains a handful of oases.
Oases
roughly from north to south:
- Siwa - located far west, close to the Libyan border
- Bahariyya
- Farafra
- Kharga Oasis
- Dakhla Oasis
