By car
Interstates 90 and 94 converge at Tomah going eastbound and split apart westbound. Take I-90 from Rochester and La Crosse, I-94 from the Twin Cities and Eau Claire, and the combined I-90/94 from Madison.
By train
- Amtrak, W Washington St at Superior Ave. Tomah is served once daily in each direction by the Empire Builder, linking Tomah with Milwaukee and Chicago to the east and the Twin Cities, Seattle, and Portland to the west.

- Tomah Museum (Tomah Area Historical Society), 1112 Superior Ave (between Monowau and Juneau Sts), ☎ +1 608 372-1880. May-Oct: Tu-Sa 1PM-4PM. Local museum includes exhibits on Frank King (creator of the Gasoline Alley comic strip), Chief Tomah, and the town's role in the American Civil War. Free.
- Little Red Schoolhouse (Watermill School), 1318 Superior Ave (at Holton St inside Gillett Park). Memorial Day-Labor Day: W,Sa 1PM-4PM. Single-room schoolhouse built in 1864, originally located northeast of Tomah. Free.
