Schinoussa (Σχοινούσα), also Schinousa and Shinousa, is an island in the Small Cyclades islands in Greece. Its population, not including visitors, is 206.

Understand

Schinoussa is a small island south of Naxos, between Koufonissia and Heraklia. It has smooth hills and valleys and fertile land. Its climate is mild and predictable.

Settlements

Mersini (the port), Chora or Panagia (1200m from the port, built on a small hill at the time of the pirates’ invasions and has a great panoramic view) and Messaria.

Sleep

Archipelagos Boutique Hotel. Stone built bungalows with swimming pool and a sea view. It is on the south side of Schinoussa in front of the popular beach, Tsigouri, and 600m from the village.
