By train: Lokeren has a railway station on the line Ghent-Antwerp. By car: the main roads are E17 (motorway Ghent-Antwerp) and N70 (Sint-Niklaas-Ghent).

- Specialty. The local specialty is 'paardeworst' (horse meat sausage).
- De wandelaar (Daknam). A modest casual restaurant. Good food for a reasonable price. Limited menu. Quite far the city center though. €10-20.
