Kildare is in County Kildare.


Kildare's name comes from the Irish Cill Dara or Church of the Oak as St. Brigid supposedly founded a church right next to an oak tree.

By bus

From/to Dublin Bus Eireann route 126 runs at least hourly and takes about 1.5hrs from Dublin Connolly LUAS station to downtown Kildare. €16/adult €12/student (return).

By car

From Dublin, go along the M7/N7 to Kildare.

Get around

Kildare is small enough to walk around on foot.






There are several pubs located all around the square.
