The folk park is not on one of the major tourist routes and therefore much less crowded than Bunratty for example.
- The Crannog reconstruction. Crannogs were Bronze Age dwellings which people used to protect themselves against marauding warriors by building their homes in lakes.
- A true reproduction of a ring fort with the farming houses in it showing how people lived in the 4th or 5th century.
- Craggaunowen Castle. One of the finest Castles in Ireland.
- A 1976 reconstruction of the type ofboat which was meant to have been used by St. Brendan in medieval times, and in which he is supposed to have discovered America. Tim Severin, the constructor of this boat, sailed it to Newfoundland to prove that it was really possible to make that distance with the material and techniques that were available at the time.
