How to Vote on Featured Article Candidates on wikiHow

Featured Article Candidates (or FACs), are articles that are being considered to be featured on the main page of wikiHow. These articles need your vote to decide whether it should be featured or not.

Steps

    Find an article to vote on. Look in the Featured Article Candidates category to find an article that has already been nominated, or read How to Nominate an Article for Featured Article Status for information on how you can nominate an article.

    Read the article carefully. Examine all the little details and decide if this article is good enough to be a featured article. Read How to Write a Featured Article on wikiHow to learn what we look for in a featured article.
    • Another method you can try is to compare the article to other featured articles. Ask yourself if this article is as good as these articles. To find featured articles, go to the Featured Article category, or find articles currently being featured on the main page.

    Go to the article's discussion page. All FAC voting takes place on the article's discussion page.
    • To go to the discussion page, just click the Discuss button, right next to the Edit button.

    Write a detailed sentence or two about why you think the article should be featured or not. Explaining why it meets or doesn't meet potential will help other users to judge it better. Post the comment on the discussion page.

    Edit the article. Help to make the article better. If you make the article better, it has a higher chance of becoming a featured article.
    • A good strategy is to go to the discussion page and find out how the article still needs improving. Read why it's not ready to be featured, and then edit the article so it fits those requirements.

Tips

  • If an {{FAC}} tag has been left on an article's discussion page for more than three months, the template can be removed by any editor and replaced with {{oldfac}}.
  • You can review the RSS Feed to see articles about to be featured and contact Anna about it if you have concerns.
