Hi Alex, I didn't remove the tag. Here is a message from Alabaster that proves it.

Alabaster said: Since you were not actively improving How to Be a Great Horse Show Mum, I removed the {{Inuse}} tag and nominated it for deletion. When you were editing the article, it seems that you inadvertently removed the NFD tag causing User:Batreeqah to revert your edits. I restored your edits, but there are still some things that need to be fixed in order for the article to avoid deletion:

The date in an NFD tag triggers the addition to the NFD Guardian queue. Seven days after the date in the tag, the article comes up for votes (unless there is an {{Inuse}} template in place).

I did indeed pass it on - but mistakes are still going to happen. They're human, and we all make mistakes. They often edit from drafts or outside of the main wikiHow window in Google docs (so they can get feedback more easily), so sometimes it ends up creating an accidental clash of changes. They aren't intentionally redoing the link - just an accident. If you let me know where it happened with the intern account, I can will talk to her about it, though!

I thought a mass-spam-removal script glitched out, because the reference appeared to contain good information that was relevant to the article. There was a large-scale removal of links to that website that filled up the entire RCP monitor, and I was a bit concerned because some removals appeared to remove helpful pages. The information in the sources appear to be the same as the information seen in the articles.

Thx for trying to understand that I prefer to not box people in but let them try to learn rather than just deep 6 them, even if blocked. I added before the commercial temp like "Not a new article but this... blah blah. The exlinks also explains some about commercial links, in case they know English.

I suppose, the motive of this gesture by you was that we not make work for RC, then why are we discussing when I know about that stuff... I always read/preview the temps, I suppose you've read them --

I've been here 8 years and already know about blocks... I have been blocked for discussing with 3 illogical admin about 3 or 4 times. 1 called me troller (???). 1 said "you reverted a good discussion" message. But it was not good; what I reverted was mean, hate, etc. I was answering those admin in calm tone, nonjudgmental and with my usual kindness as ever. Same as now. That mean-hater "discusser" was soon blocked permanently.

The admin each were trying to dominate me -- to accept their personal opinions, not for a real reason. That kind of stuff is not going to work. It was them throwing their weight around, that's it.

I was unblocked early by Krystle on one -- and another 1 unblocked early by Jack Herrick after they looked at the evidence...

I met Chris Hadley, the wikiHaus office mgr, my first day here, 8 yrs ago. He kept reverting my adding new edits, changed each time by me... on prayer as a technique of mindfulness and of meditation. He finally edited it to his liking, instead of reverting, and kept it. He has since called me "persistent..." So, let's talk as much and as often as you like. Hey?

Hey hey Alex - yeah, I think the Weavesilk got a double upload of the same thing by mistake. I've put your originals back in place at the moment - does it work for us to just stick with those ones? I forget whether you had requested images on that one or not. Connor says yours look great, if you're fine keeping them as is!

And he sends his apologies for the back and forth - he will follow up on it to let that screenshotter know about the mistake so hopefully they can avoid it in future :)

At 17:04, Sep 07, 2016

AnnaAnna said:

I hear you - that wasn't the best case to redo. Sorry about that! In general, they do sometimes take a shot at articles with existing screenshots to help provide a better clarity of images and keep our styles consistent, with the arrows and annotation styles that readers respond well to, and the like. But that doesn't mean it was necessary here, and the redo was less helpful than your version, so I'm really sorry for the grief. I'll tell Connor you're okay with it and glad we got it undone :)

At 17:17, Sep 07, 2016

AnnaAnna said:

Yeah, they're not supposed to do that - that's what Connor is following up on. Don't worry - he's a task master in the best way possible, so if it's a pattern with that screenshotter, he'll find it and bring down the hammer accordingly. Nothing personal, promise! :)

There's one thing that I could pull together in a few minutes, if you're interested, in addition to the linearts: a storybook, pictures included, that teaches assertiveness skills. I wrote it for my sister, and I know it's something a lot of disabled teens struggle with. It's at a 4th-5th grade reading level, so many teens with intellectual disabilities would be able to read it too. (It's written about two sisters who are in Special Ed.)

Alex, I think we risk going around in circles here? Yep, the Seymour team and interns both trained in the importance of clicking "Show changes" to see what's going wrong, and they are reminded when issues come up. I will ask Carrie to talk to this editor here about this one. But they are also humans, and every one of them is juggling about 100 different rules and guidelines and reminders that we all throw at them on any given edit - we have high standards and a lot of requirements (and the biggest focus is on maintaining the actual quality of writing and advice offered). Given how much they have to juggle, they are going to make mistakes sometimes, just like you and I make mistakes sometimes. We all make typos sometimes, we all don't realize there have been intermediate edits sometimes, and none of us are machines who can get everything right all the time, right? (Bots aside, but they have their own issues!).

I'm really sorry that they mess it up on occasion, but the team makes many edits, and they just are not all going to be perfect. I've seen you give volunteer editors similar heads-ups, and doing that nicely is of course okay, but I am a little concerned that in the long run, you might just wear yourself out if you're hoping the issue to get 100% resolved for all edits everywhere on the site. Links are going to get re-broken sometimes - they just are. But we're a wiki, so... they can be fixed :)

I will of course pass this on but I do think that for your own sake, it's worth your trying to be realistic about what's going to happen in the future. I wouldn't want you to keep stressing yourself out about something that is likely going to recur here and there and is so easily fixable. If you'd rather not be in the position of needing to fix it, though, there's absolutely no obligation to work on broken links - that's totally up to you, and if it stresses you out, there's no need to spend your time there. In this case, with a Related like that, the broken link just disappears anyway, so it doesn't have a big impact on readers. It's good to get it cleaned up, but if it's a stressor for you, then it might be worth taking a step back from that task - nobody wants it to be a burden on you, especially when it's a smaller matter in the grand scheme of all things wiki. If it becomes a big issue with some kind of real impact on readers, we can always ask an engineer to work on a script to clean them up, too, to avoid stressing any one person out about them.

Hah yeah - it's not even blacklisted here from what I can tell, but likely is on the underlying Mediawiki blacklist that our system also checks. My guess is either way the edits are going to come from a certain angle, if you know what I mean!

Oh yeah I know - I wish more folks would keep an eye out on the young 'uns at home! :/

I think it's best to stick with the two closest ones, yeah - that's become pretty standard over the years, and it's rare that it poses a real problem. What's the topic? Maybe it would just help to go a bit broader in categories, if needed.

Yeah, my hunch there is to put it just under Gender Expression. That's within LGBT anyway, and seems like the closest fit to me. It doesn't really seem focused on the issue of self esteem specifically, although of course there's overlap - so I think I'd put it just in the one, myself.

I think most of those were on an old template - I removed the category from the template itself. Now if any of those pages are opened and publish is clicked, even without any actual edit/update, it'll render the new template and the broken categories should be gone :)

Okk, I think your best bet there is probably to just shoot them a note first and give them an opportunity to edit themselves, if they want to. Then if you don't hear back in a week or so, you can probably edit theirs. That way you're still respecting their space but it gets the page cleared up in the longer run.

You never know, folks dip in and out and might come back when they get a message! But if they don't, at least you're doing them the courtesy of asking :)
