Congrats on starting your first wikiHow article!

Like all new articles, it will now go through a quality review process to ensure it follows our community guidelines. If your article meets those guidelines, you'll get a note letting you know that it's been promoted.

In the meantime you can continue editing to improve your article, or try visiting our Community Dashboard for other ways to help. You might get a kick out of flipping through the Topic Greenhouse to find articles in your area of expertise so you can add your knowledge there, too!

If you have any questions as you go, just reach out to our Help Team for a hand, and someone will get back to you soon :)

Hi Sasancopy, Thanks for your message to the Article Review Team. Your article has been reviewed and an editor has considered that the content is a form of advertising and spamming. wikiHow is very strict about not allowing articles that act as shields for inclusion of spamming links and use promotional language instead of the standard instructional language we prefer here. Thanks.

Hi Sasancopy, Please contact Chris to discuss your article any further, as the editor who placed the review notice on the article you have started here, to explain the reasons. Thank you, Flic

I'm concerned about the amount of apps and/or links you're putting into your articles in order to try and get the point across. It's coming across as spammy, and we have very firm policies on this sort of content.

I'd go into further detail, but my head's not very cooperative and isn't forming sentences. I'll explain tomorrow; I apologize.

I apologize - I've been busy all day, and when I did try and reply to you, my browser decided it was a good time to crash the tab. :I

As I said in my above message: I'm concerned about the apps and links you're inputting into your article. Due to the history wikiHow has had of being used to post advertisements, the staff has had to toughen up on the policies (more specifically, our External Links and Brand Name policies). There are a lot of people who come here solely to advertise their product, service, or website, with no regard as to actually editing here, and then will harass our editors to publish their article when we tell them that we can't do that. Because of that, the policies have been rewritten to prevent marketing attempts or self-promotion (or promotion of a friend's brand) from being published.

I'm also concerned about the fact that your previous article was nominated for deletion, and your response was to try and recreate it under a different name. As I mentioned above, wikiHow has been commonly used by marketers who can be extremely persistent, so I'm sure you can imagine the kind of light that that puts your article in. Your previous article was not deleted, but it definitely comes off as rather content-marketer-ish when somebody attempts to recreate an article that came off as an advertisement the first time, and still sounds very much like an advertisement the second time, especially considering that we have no history with your edits and therefore can't tell whether you're here to edit in good faith, or to promote services.

Does that help you to understand a little more? I'm not totally sure if I can answer questions that you may have to the best of my ability, so I'm going to direct you towards Anna, our community manager - I'm sure she'd be a great help if you have any more questions or want to know how to become a successful editor here :)

Oh, Chris H, you mean? He's a busy, more behind-the-scenes guy - hence why you'd want to contact Anna. Maybe reach out to her and ask for help? :) I've got a bunch of other projects that I need to tackle right now, and I'm not totally sure if removing the references to specific sites would do much, so it'd be better to reach out to Anna. She'd be able to answer that question better than I would!

As Alex and Flickety explained, we have a lot of trouble with folks coming in trying to promote particular brands or services, which isn't in the best interest of our readers. You'll want to remove the mentions of specific products and services in that guide. If you want to contribute to that or any topic from a product-neutral angle, though, please do!
