Hi Lottiotta,

Thanks for joining the wikiHow community. Since you're new, you might want to take the wikiHow tour to learn about how things work around here.

Please leave a message on my talk page, by clicking the link below, if I can help you with anything on wikiHow!

It seems you missed a welcome here? I want to wish you a big, hearty welcome to this site and to thank you for your help and contributions around here already! Hope to see much more of you and please feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Hi Lottiotta, How are you? It's really great to see you around! Thanks for all your fab helping out here, it's really wonderful. Have you found a niche in anything yet, or just enjoying trying out different things?

Yep, a wikiHow addict.

But it is impossible to miss good work around here, which is why I noticed you about.

I like writing articles, editing and categorising. I used to do RC a lot but have cut down now as it is a different ballgame in there. But I think you're doing the right thing checking out everything - it's important to find out what things interest you most. And there is no harm flitting about all over the site either - that random button is quite something for editing fun!

Let me know if you need any help or assistance. I'll be happy to help out. Thanks for contributing your time and talent here; it really is appreciated.

Hello Lottiotta,

I noticed you have done some fantastic editing here lately and I wanted to stop bye and welcome you. Your edits have been very impressive, especially for someone who joined us relatively recently. You are clearly a very good writer. We are lucky you have decided to contribute here.

I noticed on your user page that you are a vegetarian. Great! We could always use more articles in the organic / grow your own /diy topics. I've been a semi-veg for 13 years now. (Fish is my one compromise, that I am feeling increasingly bad about these days.) Also good that you are from the UK. We need more people from the UK to balance out an unintentional American bias here. We simply have more Americans than people from other countries. The more international diversity we have among editors the more internationally balanced our how-to manual can become.

Anyway, I'm delighted you are here. Please feel free to drop me a line if I can ever help you around the site.

Hey there!

Great edits. I like what you did with the evacuation kit page. I was also editing it. It's nice to get a fresh pair of eyes. I often get into a zone when trying to write a page. It's easy to glance over something and not catch a wording or format issue.

Glad you're here!

I sure do appreciate your help but I was editing the bread article. There was an in use tag in place. Perhaps you missed it.

Good work on patrolling too, nice to have you here.

That's OK. You and I are both trying to accomplish the same thing. It is frustrating though to see your well meaning edits disappear because someone missed the in use tag. It happens so don't worry about it.

Thanks for helping out on Recent Changes Patrol!

Patrolling is wikiHow's first line of Quality Control, and it's awesome you want to lend a hand! There's a lot to learn when you start patrolling, but a few guides can help:

How to Patrol Recent Changes
Interactive RCP Tutorial
How to Do a Manual Revert
Expert Tips & Advice on Patrolling

Some Patrolling Basics to Get You Started:

  • Article edits: If they're accurate and helpful additions, hit Mark as Patrolled. If they're vandalism or involve unnecessary inclusions of brand names or external links, hit Rollback. If they are helpful but are not in wikiHow style or format, or the edit contains mistakes, do a Quick Edit to fix the change.
  • Articles needing lots of help: If you come across an article with many mistakes, you can use Quick Edit to fix them up, or add templates for further editing. If you're not sure what needs fixing, just go ahead and skip it so someone else can add any necessary templates.
  • Talk pages: Generally, messages between talk pages that aren't vandalism or abuse are fine, too. You can mark them as patrolled, most of the time.
  • Discussion pages: Generally, most comments here are fine to patrol, but if you see obvious or repeat spamming, abusive or offensive content, you can remove it.
  • User pages: Most edits here are okay. Only rollback or question the edit if it's clearly vandalism by another editor or contains abusive content.

If you have questions, just let me know, or you can ask the Help Team. Thanks for helping out!

Thanks for your help in RC patrol! It's very appreciated! (and welcome!)

Please do not put tags on Featured Articles. In about a week and a half, when this article falls off the front page, we'll take a look at changing the title.

That chemical scare site doesn't actually say anything about dandruff, or about it coming back. The obvious bias makes me wary of using it in one of our articles.

Maybe we could start by improving these articles:

Find Your Animal Spirit

Understand Witches

And later on editing and correcting some other articles in the Nature and Pagan beliefs category.

From a Christian viewpoint, all paganism is tied to "turning away from God". Doing so itself is an evil act, since anything that is not of God, or not for God is sin. Yet, we all sin (no one is perfect and pure). Your article has a place on wikiHow because we do not discriminate against beliefs/faiths so long as they wide-spread or commonly accepted beliefs/faiths.

But do keep this in mind in case others chastise you for this article. Their reasoning and views are valid, but removing the article for that purpose is not.

On 17:22, March 12, 2008

Cipher_nemoCipher_nemo said:

Yes, I left you the message because I noticed you recently helped with the article and have mentioned the topic on that article's discussion page.

I do not wish to debate faith/religion, but merely wanted to help look out for you.

Just be forewarned not to draw too much faith/religion debate from it, as there are some who would use it to add fuel to their fire. As with all topics that need a delicate touch, emotions can run high and the faith of others can be a very powerful foe (ie: "radical Islamic fundamentalists").

Thanks! I've gone through many renditions of it, including a "full page" version and a Christmas theme one.
