Hi Kalsikum,
Thanks for joining the wikiHow community. Since you're new, you might want to take the wikiHow tour to learn about how things work around here.
Please leave a message on my talk page, by clicking the link below, if I can help you with anything on wikiHow!

Hi, I have reverted the Stop Animation article to the one with the photos. It'd be helpful if you could explain why you want to remove the photo sequence.
Thanks! F

Thanks. The presence of the human hand is deliberate, as this step is a how-to do it, not how the end product should look. So the hand is actually there to help show a reader what they would be doing. Yes, the changes are very small but they are still perceptible and it is also to impart the reality of how much work this really involves.
Just my thoughts about this. Thanks for responding.

Hi! Just wondering, but why did you choose to change some of the linkweaving -- such as linking to "animate clay"?
At 21:18, Nov 11, 2007
Nicole Willson said:
I'm on the FA team and I linkweave for all the featured articles, so that people can easily be lead to other parts of wikiHow related to the things that get mentioned in the articles.
I don't know what you mean exactly by "not required".

Webster said:
I rolled back your edits b/c it was such a large change (removing the software stuff) and b/c you removed some apparently good links (like "animate clay").
I also added some commented line breaks between the pictures so that it will be easier to evaluate any future changes. If you remove a Step, it's good to leave in a dummy line of some sort to make patrolling easier.
A lot of your edits look good, now that I've been able to isolate them better. The bold text, especially, is good, as are most of the text moves. I like the new wikilinks you added, too.
In the future, please make changes to FAs in smaller bites, since we watch those changes closely, and it's easier on us if there are fewer things to compare. It also allows you to use the Edit Summary more effectively to communicate what you did, and why. Finally, it lets us accept your good changes and reject others, rather than roll back all your hard work at once. For example, in one edit, you could have removed the software directions, and explained in the Edit Summary that the basics are already in the FA, with more detailed directions in a linked article. You could do the bolding in another save, and the added wikilinks in another.
Does that make sense?

Some fantastic edits you made today. Really good to see you improving pages and formatting them better.
While I loved most of your edits, I didn't agree with all of the nominations you made on NFD and voted against some of them. For example, I failed to see how Making a Vodoo Doll was so irrationally dangerous that it needed deletion. We usually reserve NFD|dan for things like "driving blindfolded in heavy traffic". In addition, some of the articles you tagged with nfd|inc were really just stubs that need more time to develop. But these things take a while to learn. :) You are doing GREAT here and I'm so happy to see that you continue contributing here. Please, please continue!
Thanks again.

Hey! Well you did an awesome job with the images! I nominated the article for featuring, but it seems the instructions might not be clear enough yet. I started a topic in the forums asking people if they could understand the steps but most people seem to find them confusing still. Can you think of any way to make the instructions easier to understand, so that the article will have a better chance of being featured on the home page?

Thanks for helping out on Recent Changes Patrol!
Patrolling is wikiHow's first line of Quality Control, and it's awesome you want to lend a hand! There's a lot to learn when you start patrolling, but a few guides can help:
How to Patrol Recent Changes |
Some Patrolling Basics to Get You Started:
- Article edits: If they're accurate and helpful additions, hit Mark as Patrolled. If they're vandalism or involve unnecessary inclusions of brand names or external links, hit Rollback. If they are helpful but are not in wikiHow style or format, or the edit contains mistakes, do a Quick Edit to fix the change.
- Articles needing lots of help: If you come across an article with many mistakes, you can use Quick Edit to fix them up, or add templates for further editing. If you're not sure what needs fixing, just go ahead and skip it so someone else can add any necessary templates.
- Talk pages: Generally, messages between talk pages that aren't vandalism or abuse are fine, too. You can mark them as patrolled, most of the time.
- Discussion pages: Generally, most comments here are fine to patrol, but if you see obvious or repeat spamming, abusive or offensive content, you can remove it.
- User pages: Most edits here are okay. Only rollback or question the edit if it's clearly vandalism by another editor or contains abusive content.
If you have questions, just let me know, or you can ask the Help Team. Thanks for helping out!

I honestly don't believe you, but have it your way, if you really want. I think "ground" is the past tense and past participle of "grind". So do Wiktionary and Merriam Webster, but I suppose it is still possible that this is a regional matter, too.

Thy choicest gifts in store, On her be pleased to pour; Long may she reign: May she defend our laws, And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice God save the Queen.

I owe you an apology. I did not realize that my bad typing misspelled the name. I had my daughter, who is younger and with better vision check, and she said the word was spelled incorrectly. Once that was discovered, I edited the page to reflect the correct spelling. I am so glad you caught my mistake and it was corrected.
To clean up extra characters you can go to the advance edit mode which will allow you to do this. I learned this the hard way so I am passing along that tidbit of knowledge.
Again, thank you for catching the misspelling as I am sure we all want wikiHow to look the best it can be.

If only one editor was involved in some vandalism, even if it was spread out over several different edits, the "rollback" button will not only revert their changes, but it will also mark their edits patrolled, making things easier on the rest of the RC patrol.
At 23:20, Dec 01, 2007
Webster said:
The rollback function affects the last consecutive edits by the last editor. If edits by A, B, and C went like this: a, b, c, a, b, a, c, b, c, c; then rollback would undo the last two edit, both by C, but not the two earlier edits by C.

Hi there! Have you just this minute stepped into the wikiHouse? Seeing your name for the first time, I thought I'd say hello. I enjoy volunteering at wikiHow and I hope you will too.
If you're going to work on an article, please note that
it's often better to add to an article than to begin a new one, unless you're starting an entirely new topic.
