Odd one, Bob. The issue seems to be the underscore at the end of her user name: "User_talk:GabrielleElizabeth_"; it's probably getting cut off by some automatic MediaWiki function when she is using the real name feature. If you go here User_talk:GabrielleElizabeth_, it should work fine. But I'd probably recommend she get a different user name that does not end in an underscore if she's going to stick around for a while because it's not going to work right with talk or discussion page posts.

Hey there!

My two cents on the article: It rocks. I can understand concerns about safety but...I think the only people who'll actually go for this are people who are already experienced with such things. Otherwise, most will read it for interest, and giggle at the word "crotch".

It's icy up here in this corner of the country. Last weekend we got a few inches of snow and all hell broke loose. Next thing you know, they're mandating snow tires and calling it "Arctic Blast 2008". And all I can think of is, "Where's the salt??" I better get out my ice skates.

Just now I was reading Build a House and I was wondering, "Who wrote this? It's so comprehensive!" and there you were, taking the blame on the discussion page. I should've known! =)

Have a warm and happy Christmas!!

So if you're going to leave a message, please leave it on my talk page. It will be empty since I recently archived it, but I won't be replying until next year.

Hey BR,

Good question. The policy is not to leave that message on anonymous users; it should only be left by admins who have actually blocked a registered user for being under age. The only thing I might do with an anon is to recommend that he or she avoid leaving personal info on wikiHow, but because an IP address is not specific to a particular person, we don't block or leave this message in that instance. Heya Bob!

It *was* a white Christmas in Oregon, but not for me. I flew down to sunny Texas to visit with my mom, sister and nephew. Almost didn't make it out, either! My first flight was canceled because of the snow, had to reschedule.

Your idea for having a basic overview and linking to more specific articles from Build a House is exactly what I had in mind. It's the kind of topic I don't think we can ever expect to be complete, but it'd still be really cool to have an overview on one page that people can use to get an accurate gist of the process.

Global warming, global cooling, I don't know. Either way, I still think I'm better off in this environment than in the desert of New Mexico!

I did not make up those rules. Any good wikiHowian would dissapprove of, "playing", with the ability to block someone. That is why I stopped OhioMike. Your message to that other user was also mean, and not permitted on wikiHow. Those are the rules of the site. So please stop.

Hi! I noticed that you've been really active on patrol today (which is great) and reverting a lot of edits by Allyandabi. You may want to send her a talk page message explaining why her edits were reverted, since I think she is making a good faith effort to edit here and is trying to find her way.

I've been active here and there. I'm sorry I didn't see your earlier comments. I checked Allyandabi's talkpage, but I think she archived it yesterday so I didn't see that you had written her previously.

I'm about to go to work, but if I end up reverting anything tonight, I'll send her a message and try to coach her.

Hi, Bob

If you read through the comments I deleted, you'll actually see the reason I deleted them (my own comments at the bottom in particular)

Specifically, they *don't* *relate* to the article in question, but a since changed version of it which had a different page name and detailed a different computer program

If you read the change comment I put in, I did try to make it clearer what I was doing; the existing discussion makes no sense in the context of the article they are associated with.

Unless there's some reason to keep them in, it would probably make more sense to remove them as it does give a strongly misleading impression about the program the article is about.

Re: Peter V. Some of the titles of his articles are worth saving, though the content would need to be improved. I've eliminated his advertising in all but three of his articles. I also blocked him for just two hours this morning - to give him a chance to read the mail and mend his ways.

Speedy might be appropriate for at least half the articles, I just thought that was too big a hammer for the problem without some consensus.

I just did a speedy delete on one of Peter V's articles and will review the two remaining on NAB.

Apparently admins can't execute a speedy delete through NAB, only mark it for speedy?

I tried to change the title to reflect the hyphen in lean-to but should have known it wouldn't work as you would have done it, if you could.

Thanks for the kind words of support. I meant what I wrote in the forum. You are a delight to chat with as you remain unassuming, kind and generous with your time.

Your kind words couldn't have come at a better time. Life is not bad here just frustrating. I do a lot of writing when under stress.

My New Year's Day started with my KitchenAid dishwasher giving up. I suspect a water pump is no longer working. I spent a frustrating Friday trying to get a well known company to come out and service the thing as I paid for maintenance agreement.

Tonight my deep fat fryer gave up. I don't fry a lot, but I do like making homemade fries once in awhile. I haven't used the deep fat fryer in awhile and to thank me it quit in the middle of making homemade fries. Sigh...the rest of the fries are now baking in the oven. Not as good but a lot healthier.

So your kinds words came at a good time.

I will be sending you another email later, if I can survive my kitchen appliances LOL!

I bet you think you are hot stuff and suave by leaving your inappropriate comments on your user page. Remember real men do not have to boast about their sexual prowess. They know who they are.

In the future, please refrain from leaving inappropriate comments at wikiHow as there are young people who participate. Also, children can read anything written here.

This was posted on a user's page who left some profane remarks about the male anatomy.

I don't know if you can permanently remove the comments but here's the link:

Tomorrow I am having some dental work done so I wanted to leave the family with some extra meals, in case I am out of commission for a few days.

Hey, I recently wrote an article Use a Ghost Well on Halo 3, but MA decided the name could imply a well filled with ghosts (not what was intended), so he changed the name to Use a Ghost on Halo 3, but mistakenly wrote How to Use a Ghost 3 in Halo, meaning there are two How To's in the title lol. In any case however, I think that the title "Use a Ghost on Halo 3" could imply a basic guide on how to use a ghost, however I was intending the article to be more an advanced guide on how to use a ghost well, so would a better title be "Be Effective with a Ghost on Halo 3" and then I'd probably create another article "Use a Ghost on Halo 3" which would cover the basics (IE, move forward is this button blah blah blah). Anyway sorry to bother you but I'm not an admin so I can't do these things and I don't know if MA is online atmo. Thanks a bunch! Cheers, Spawn Man 02:36, 8 January 2009 (GMT)

I really liked your article. Can you explain a little more how to dry the wood so it doesn't crack when drying?
