BR I think you missed the point in adding that page to protection. The other administrator continues to remove information which adds to the article in a positive, beneficial way. I somewhat agree with Maluniu's assessment of my initial edits, but the newer edits are not the same as the original ones and are much more positive and "serious". Having read all of the guidelines I believe my additions are in line with what WikiHow is, and with what WikiHow is not.

Removing the edits would be violation of several policies listed in what WikiHow is not. 14, which expresses that we shouldn't be helping people make moral decisions on WikiHow. Maluniu posted on my IP's talk page the reason for her edit was "A person should not consume their life towards video games and if so, they should seek help.". Basically, she deleted the content based on her own personal beliefs, which she would like to enforce upon everyone reading the article.

Additionally, deleting the content is a way of expressing an opinion. By removing the content you disagree with you force all readers to only see that viewpoint, which is also censorship. (What WikiHow is not, guidelines 15 and 18).

For these reasons I believe my edits are valid and should not be deleted or undone. They might need tweaking, but the edits stand on their own and should remain in the article.

Thank you. -MT

I find this all very much confusing and tastes of double standard, because I don't like the telling of lies by omission (what you do when you delete what I have to say on your User:Talk), like the fire-bug says when asked "Did you light the fire with that match?" he says "I lit my cigar" but could easily have actioned both.

Hi.

Thanks for explaining your edit on my recent edits.

However, I fail to understand how is that link a violation of the guidelines regarding external links. It does not point to a commercial product or service, and the pages of that blog have no advertising what so ever. The link just helps people completing that specific step more quickly. The application is free, no charges, no donations required. And it fits the article subject (I do have very good feedbacks from the actual users of the application and I'm pretty sure that a very big part of them have come to the download page from this wikihow article in the last two months).

More, until the January 11 2010 the link was not considered spam. The initial link to the blog was introduced by me on November 24 2009 (at that time I was not registered with wikiHow, I made the edits from IP 82.208.148.204).

Also, I fail to understand why is my link different from similar links in the same article.

I hope you will investigate the matter again and rollback the changes. I'll try to wait patiently and not re-edit the article...

Thank you. Best regards, Cicerone Pavaloi

Thank you for your reply: However to state that our resource is for promotion is simply not true. We are a registered non-profit church and we provide resources for the LGBT community and people who wish to get ordained.

The edits were made to "significant improve the article" as the LGBT community is not properly represented which the article, thus the addition of our step 2 "After researching decide which online church best represents your lifestyle." was added. Which is relevant to this article. Our edit enhances the article to include the LGBT community and is not intended for promotion.

The citation was added for reference to the step we added, not a "source link".

As far being biased, Please take a close look at steps 2 and 3 - Why are these steps? The steps have nothing to do with getting ordained. They are simply promotion for these websites. Why have they not been removed publicizing?

I will be contacting Chris Hadley with my concerns on this matter and revisions.

Thank you, jbase

Hi, In case you didn't know, this was me logged out. His site was already on the blacklist (twice) but he was using rollback to keep getting it back in so I made another edit to stop that tactic. I obviously don't care that you reverted it. I'm just letting you know what was going on there in case you see something similar next week after you add his new domain to the blacklist.

Dear "BR",

I am not sorry at all to inform you of this but my article "How to Burn Boredom" is no way, in any shape or form a good candidate for "speedy deletion".

I have read over your deletion policies and have come to the conclusion that my article does not break any of these rules and therefore, should not be subject to deletion.

Also, I have recieved comments saying that this IS an informative article and did in fact burn their boredom and make them smile.

Please reconsider your pending deletion on my article.

Thank you for your time. Fellow Wikihow-er, lovelinz13

Haha! Yeah, I think it's a bit sketchy with IE.

Too bad you don't use Firefox, because you are certainly a power patroller that could probably provide some good feedback. I have been using it tonight, but it's throwing me for a couple loops. I think there's still a bit more work to be done before it will replace our "old" system of patrolling.

At 02:11, Feb 25, 2010

Eric-WEric Wester said:

Yes, I think it will help us get recent changes under control. As with any new feature, I think it will spark some new interest in patrolling recent changes, simply because a new tool has been introduced. Travis is a smart guy, and I am sure he will get the bugs worked out in no time.

In addition to being a great patroller, you're also a stellar author, and a tremendous asset to wikiHow. I certainly understand where patrolling recent changes can take away from other things, but it's also great to keep the site looking nice. Oh, and accurate. =)

Hi, I'd like to first of thank you for your work on RC patrol. However, I came across this revert, and I don't understand why my edit was reverted. Half of the sentence was just chopped off so now it's incomplete, and I was just fixing it. I don't want to get into a revert war or anything, so I figured I'd better ask.

No worries, I usually make about 3-5 mistakes or so (if I'm lucky) on RC patrol everyday. I was hesitant to revert the edit at first because I saw it was Jack who originally changed it, but when I looked a little closer, I noticed the sentence was actually cut off. That pretty much taught me the lesson of it doesn't matter how reliable the editor is, you should still look at what they edited. Anyway, I'm rambling now, sorry.
