Gah, you're the third admin I've asked; is there any way you know of to force steps to continue after a break in text? For example:

  1. Example1
  2. Example2

Uh oh, no pound sign

  1. Oh no! It's back to step one!
Is there any way to get the last part to be a 3 instead of 1?
Jonathan E. said:
Yeah, I guess I'll just do that...Maybe I'll screw around in my sandbox and see if I can find a way to do it.

Hi,

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Sure, I would like to take over as one of the leaders for the Crafts & Hobbies WI if you haven't already found someone else.
Foljiny said:
Also, how many people usually edit through the weekly improvement project? Because not a single editor has made any changes to the current Crafts & Hobbies WI article.
Foljiny said:

Hi,

I've noticed that the wikiHow Weekly Improvement Project isn't "advertised" very well. In other words, it is hard to get to and hard to find out about unless you find an article that is being worked on by the project and has a link to it. Is there some way to put a link to it on the wikiHow home page or under Navigation or Editing tools or some place where it will attract more contributors?

This obviates the need for either tagging the article as an entry, or pinpointing a revision for review. Even more importantly, it bolsters the concept that wikiHow is a community effort, and this one small twist goes a long way toward helping us fulfill the goal, which is to join together to create better and better articles.

I have found that what most works with students is treating them with respect from the onset. It's amazing (and a little disturbing) how teachers will treat students sometimes. I always tell my students that when they come into my class, they have a clean slate with nothing that biases my opinion of them. As time goes on, it's up to the student to keep their image up with me.

I'll probably write another article here soon about teachers treating students with respect... :-)

I found the knots once in a navy manual. I believe it was here: https://wrc.navair-rdte.navy.mil/warfighter_enc/tidbits/Knots/knotmain.htm Oddly you need to be in the USA to access this website!

Regarding dangerous book for boys. I suspect that they used that PD book as a source...but not the only source. I think they did a lot of original material too.

BTW, I have been busy on my campaign of buying PD books. Bought 8 more this week. NOt exactly sure how I'm getting them on wH yet. I think only Sondra tried to create a page from my last scanning exercise.

Cool.

BTW, as part of my PD book purchasing I've been focusing on knots as one of my hot topics. I think wikiHow should have a very high quality page with multiple images for each knot. Maybe 100-400 articles on each distinct knot in all. Over time, we should just start to have all of these basic areas covered.

Anyway, before working heavily on knot pages or encouraging others to do so, you might want to wait a few days...as I will have more PD books here soon that could be good. There is one that looks really good that hasn't arrived yet. I'm optimistic it will be perfect for us.

Hi Nicole, It's good to hear that you're so happy with your Inspiron. If you ever need any help with it let me know. And just fyi, you can get all the updated drivers for your system on http://support.dell.com/ - just click on Drivers and Downloads and put in your service tag number, choose your operating system, and there you are.

Hey, Nicole!
It took me almost two days to realize you live in that part of the city that lost two firefighters. Were you affected by this disaster? *hopes and parsy she wasn't*

I read that I could do this on a forum thread. Can you really ask someone to protect your page from anon editing? I wish there was a way that you could limit the number of anon edits a day though.

Thanks for the note on the Resource of the Week Project! I will definitely find some way of helping with that, most likely through nominating resources. Thanks for letting me know.....I appreciate it.

Wow! Resource of the Week Project - I came across a book that is SOOOO useful!!!! It's called "How to do Just About Anything", I shall try and find the author, or the book itself online :)

Thanks for helping wikiHow grow into something beautiful.

Hiya!
Thanks for the offer of help! Cheers my dears :D
I will keep my eye out for any good how to books on my travels (or shopping lol) - luckily I am well used to paraphrasing :)
Could I ask a favour? If you come across a useful-looking section/book with any LGBT information in your day to day browsing, would you be a dear and jot the title down for me? Anything like that would be excellent! :) Thank you so much, in advance :)

Heya! You said earlier: "If there's anything I can do to pitch in with research or copy-editing, please let me know". - You wouldn't be a darling and take a look at Know if You Are Gay for the project? Cheers love! Then I might be able to put the LGBTdone template on it's discussion page after I have seen Jamie and see what magic she can weave :)

Hi Nicole, Glad to help here. The 1887 version of the book is now in the public domain and content from it is free to use. However, new content found in the recent versions of the text (i.e., images that differ from the PD version) would be copyrighted, and should not be used without permission.

Thank you. It is this one: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-the-Most-Church-Facilities. It requires an "of" between most and church.
