I took a look at Make an Animated GIF Online and it looks like it's doing much better! My only concern about promotion here is that it's focused on two particular sites/services, which is generally "iffy" on our commercial policies. That's such a tactic of spammers that I'm afraid it'll just attract more spam to it :/ -- do you think there's a way to provide a more neutral guide, or research and include several reputable options?

I think multiple options for both methods could be useful - or maybe a rewrite to just make it product neutral, like Change JPEG to GIF. It's a tricky balance in making the article helpful without being accidentally spammy - something we struggle with a lot in tech! But I think either of those angles could work :)

I don't think basic HTML is one of the options - take a look at them here. I guess html4strict?

I took a look and it looks like you have a || in there instead of a | :)
