Just a lot of patience. When I joined a few years ago, there was hardly any Pacific-related articles, so coming from there was a huge advantage for me to make articles about it.

Thanks Yarden, that makes me feel a little better after some, but not all the scrutiny I have been receiving lately on a certain matter. I really wish Krystle would respond, if even briefly. Being ignored is almost as bad as being bashed, but I will be just fine, and hold no ill feelings towards her. I guess she figures she said her peace to me, and I know that she is busy and needs to attend to other matters.

It's alright, she is busy, and has to divide her attention to all on wikiHow. The matter is pretty much over for now, and she probably figures their needs to be a time out. She seems to be a fair person, and I don't mind waiting.

"Do you think that Practice Guitar would be an adequate Featured Article?"
On a glance, I don't think so :) It just doesn't seem like the best article on the Internet on that topic...there are so many good articles out there to compete with!

Ahh, see, I was never quite sure about the UIB. Don't quote me on it or anything, but I'm fairly sure it's a manual thing. :/ With the templates like the ones on my user page (# of RS and FA's), you have to update it as you go. You could bump the number up after every twenty new users you welcome or something as such. I'm not positive; you could ask someone else, but I think it's not automatic. I've never used that UIB. Sorry!

Hi there, Thanks for your message. I think you've done a great job writing this article and I'm really happy to see you've gotten right into the spirit of wikiHow and have started adding lots of great info all round.
To the article you've asked about. It is well written and laid out but in terms of featuring, I'd suggest that there are many outstanding questions that would need addressing, such as:
- People would definitely be asking why 3 glasses and why they should change their diet to accommodate this. The precise benefit of 3 glasses is not clearly stated apart from general comments about the alleged goodness of milk and its calcium content overall. Moreover, it's not clear to me where the "studies" suggesting 3 glasses are needed are identified. Nor is it made clear who funded those studies in the first place. I highlight this because the dairy industry is renowned for funding studies that tell people they need more dairy products (naturally) and it's never in its interest to state whether or not other food sources are adequate or as good as/better than milk.
- Currently the article presumes milk is the only way to gain the benefits suggested. I don't drink any milk and I don't gain fat either and my nutrient levels are fine as I gain all nutrients from other foods. So I'd like to see why I (or any other non-milk/low milk drinker) should suddenly drink 3 glasses of milk daily for health reasons – I won't be whatever the evidence but I'm trying to point out something that needs to be covered.
- The intro suggests that as babies we all had cow's milk. That generalisation is not true; many babies are weaned from breast milk to water in different diets and cultures. A lot of people are milk intolerant from a very early age while others simply dislike it and don't drink it it at all. Suggesting that returning to milk drinking is "normal" is a generalisation that doesn't apply to many people.
- Some people can never drink milk, be it at meals or in between, for religious, dietary, health, etc. reasons. Are these people going to miss out on something amazing that the 3 cup a day people are getting?
- Ice cream or flavoured milk are never a part of any healthy diet especially not regular consumption of such. I know you've added a qualification to the step on ice cream but I'd never ask people to eat ice cream or flavoured milk from the perspective of trying to follow a healthy diet. Those are most definitely treats and it would sort of cancel out the purpose of consuming so much milk on a daily basis for health.
- What about the fact that 3 glasses of milk is a whopping amount of additional calories in a person's diet? It could be 80 to 150 calories (depending on fat content) a glass times 3 extra calories if a person doesn't realize they should adjust their other food intake to account for this. A person risks increasing their girth regardless of the alleged lack of fat gain touted if they don't make adjustments for the added calories. And if they do make adjustments to fit in the milk, what else are they potentially missing out on because they've taken up more milk drinking? My very vague understanding through a fast Google search to try and find the source of this is that one study appeared to have been about suggesting 3 glasses a day of milk to replace soda drinks specifically for adolescent girls who drink too much soda every day. This is definitely no a general solution to fat loss/lack of gain for every person if that is the case; it's an extremely specific issue that isn't broadly applicable to everyone. Moreover, a lot of my returns had exclamation marks on them, showing people couldn't believe they were being asked to consume 3 whole glasses of milk every day. That really is a lot of milk. :)
- What about the interactions of some of the suggestions with milk? Some chemicals in coffee or sugary products might mask or cancel out calcium or other nutrients in the milk. That would need exploration.
I hope this helps you a bit! Thanks for taking the time to both add the great work and to ask about it and I hope I'm not dampening your enthusiasm; I'm just pointing out what I'd be thinking if I were to review this article in terms of dealing with reader concerns and scrutiny as in the area of health and diet, reliability is always paramount. It's a difficult topic to cover well and I suspect even nutritionists would be having a hard time with this one. Felicity

I can see some additions, which is great. :) But I still think most of my concerns above remain. Also, be really careful about who you use as references, especially for medical/health topics - yahoo answers is not reliable for such purposes. :)

Hey there, I double checked only the past 15 minutes of your patrols and had to revert a lot of them:
- http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Get-in-a-Good-College&oldid=6529049&diff=prev - This unfortunely was supposed to receive a {{nfd|inc}} instead of being patrolled as is.
- http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Find-Someone-to-Help-You-Go-Goth&oldid=6529399&diff=prev - This image obviously does not match the article title.
- http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Be-Indie-With-a-Strict-School-Uniform&oldid=6529409&diff=prev - This needed a {{cleanup}} tag.
- http://www.wikihow.com/index.php?title=Make-a-Lot-of-Friends-on-the-First-Day-of-School&oldid=6528904&diff=prev
I'm asking you to please slow down and thoroughly check each edit before marking it as patrolled. Patrolled things can be left on the site for months or years if not checked properly. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
