How to Use an Electronic Digital Caliper

This sort of calipers come with no line graduated measuring scale, on the caliper there are four jaws two upper and two lower. This electronic measurement as three buttons on the digital caliper On/Off in one buttons you use turn on or off, Zero prepare to take a measurement and the MM/IN also one button if you need it in metric on in inches, the locking screw is to keep the reading in place when you're done measuring and you don’t want to lose the reading located on top of the caliper. Compare with the traditional caliper the digital one get a LCD display with that it make it easy to read and very useful for less-experienced users.

Steps

    You have to make sure that the object you're going to measure is clean.

    Clean the measurement tool because we need to get precise reading.

    After you're done clean the object and the digital caliper, turn on the instrument and make sure the reading is at 0 then you can start.

    Make sure you press the MM/IN to select the unit system that you want

    Press the Zero buttons again to set it at 0

    Put the lower jaw on the outside part of the item

    Make sure both of the lower jaws are gently against the outside surfaces.

Tips

  • Flashing display shows dead battery push the battery cover as the arrow directing and then replace with a new one.
  • Don’t apply voltage on any part of Digital Caliper so you won't damage the circuit.
  • If water enters the battery cover open it immediately and blow the inside of the battery, and make sure the cover gets dry at temperature of 39C.
