How to Twist and Set 2 Wires

After stripping the wire out of a mains cord, I'm left with two single conductors. To keep them together I could use cable ties or silicon. I chose the later. Here's how.

  1. 1
Twist the wires. Not too tightly if you don't want rebound.
  2. 2
Squeeze silicon onto glove. Apply it onto the part of twisted pair to be worked on.
  3. 3
Use a squeezing and smoothing motion to transfer the silicon from the glove to the work.
  4. 4
Once done, leave to set for at least 12 hours.

  • you can use coloured silicon for a coloured effect
  • use the gloves! The silicon applies much more easily

  • Do use the gloves. Silicon is nasty stuff.

Things You'll Need

  • silicon (clear)
  • gloves (light-weight rubber, dishes type)
