How to Turn Sugar Cones Into Easter Favors
Sugar cones make great ready-made holders for your favorite Easter treats. These can be given or used as party or dinner table favors, or they can be added to an Easter basket as a special centerpiece treat. Another use is in display, such as placing them upright in a container for a table centerpiece.
Ingredients
- Sugar cone per favor
- Easter treats (chocolate eggs, candies, gummies, etc.)
Steps
- 1Assemble the supplies needed. These are listed below.
- 2Slip each sugar cone into a clear plastic cone shaped bag.
- 3Fill up the sugar cone with chocolates or candies. Carefully keep filling above the cone itself onto the plastic of the bag. Leave enough room at the top to tie the bag.
- 4Tie the bag together. Use ribbon or other material to make a neat bow. It is often easiest (and most secure) to use a rubber band or elastic first, then to cover this up by tying with a bow.
- 5Use as a gift or display item. If displaying, these look best upright inside a clear vase or similar clear object, so that you can see the entire effect.
- 6Finished.
Tips
- Sugar cones are also known as waffle cones.
- For the ribbon, try to use Easter colors such as pastel blues, pinks or greens.
- These cones are not limited to Easter; vary the contents according to the occasion.
Things You'll Need
- Plastic pastry bags (or other cone shaped clear plastic bags)
- Ribbon, raffia, twine, ric-rac, etc. for tying
- Rubber band (optional but safest)
