Having a beautiful, tidy garden like those in gardening magazines is achievable and manageable. This article provides tips to a beautiful outdoor space.

Method 1
Gardening Tools

    1
Build a Shed. This shed will be your garden's storage unit, where you will keep all of your tools, seeds, and other gardening essentials. Fit in a shelf if you can, as this will provide extra storage for smaller items such as shovels or pots.

    2
Store all of your small gardening equipment in a basket. Buy a wicker basket to place in your shed; you can get these relatively cheap from most home-shops. Store all of your small tools in this basket, as this will make it easier to find them when needed.

    3
Lean all big equipment against a wall. You can either do this with the force of balance, or install a rack to be attached to your wall. Both ways work the same. 'Big equipment' includes rakes, string trimmer, etc.

    4
Put fertiliser/compost in the shed's corner. Any big sacks of gardening essentials should be stored in the corner closest to the entry, so you can easily access them when gardening during lighter months.

    5
Store seeds on the shed's shelf. Place any loose packets of seeds or other miscellaneous items on this shelf, as you will be able to keep all of this clutter preserved inside of the shed. Think of the shed as your garden's junk drawer.

Method 2
Doing Regular 'Chores'

  1. Image titled Tidy Your Garden Step 6
    1
Before doing these steps, consider buying some equipment to assist you in these regular tasks.
    • Leaf Blower
    • Lawn Mower
    • Rake
    • Slug Pellets
    • Weed Killer
  2. Image titled Tidy Your Garden Step 7
    2
Leaf Patrol. Whenever you see any leaves blow into your garden, use your rake to gather them all to one area, and then either use your leaf-blower to blow them out of your garden, or continue raking them into a bin liner.
  3. Image titled Tidy Your Garden Step 8
    3
Mow your lawn. This task will drastically improve your garden if done on a daily basis. Try making grass designs by turning your lawn mower around each time you do a different row. The grass gets cut differently on every row, therefore making a 'stripy lawn'.
  4. Image titled Tidy Your Garden Step 9
    4
Put slug pellets on your vegetation/plants. Slugs are your garden's enemy and can ruin it by nibbling on your growth. Be sure to use environmental-friendly ones, though, as some of the chemicals in ordinary pellets can damage your plants.

    5
Kill any weeds. Weeds give your garden a horrible, untidy look, so be sure to get rid of them as soon as you've found them, to avoid further growth.
