How to Start Blogging With Posterous.Com

Blogging, and micro-blogging, is the 'new big thing'. Throughout time there has been a need to share our feelings and our knowledge. In some ways, wikis like wikiHow fill that need. But to put a more personal bent on it, you need to have your own blog. There are different types out there, but for most people, a free one is better.

  1. 1
Go to Posterous.Com and register for a site if you haven't.
  2. 2
Choose a 'name' you like as well as an email account to use and a password.
  3. 3
Go to the Manage screen. Posterous will take you right there after you have registered.
  4. 4
Add email addresses. Only email addresses that you have added and confirmed will be able to post to your blog.
  5. 5
Consider adding the 'Posterous Bookmarklet'. If you like to share things that you find on the web, this will come in handy. This tool allows you to 'grab big photos, video, audio and text right out of the page you're looking at, comment, and post it fast'.
  6. 6
Dress up your Posterous blog. You can choose a theme, edit it by changing colors or adding a picture, and also make it possible to tweet your blog (more easily anyway).
  7. 7
Start posting to your blog. Using the example above, you would email your blog by entering in and it would post to your blog if it is a registered email account.

  • Start out small. Don't expect your blog to take off in a day...or even two.
