Heat it up in the microwave for 30 seconds maximum. If you go over it could burn or melt the clay.

Put the clay in the oven after you are done baking some charms (after the oven is turned off but still warm). Leave it there for a couple of seconds. If it is too hot, let it sit for a few seconds, no more or it will harden completely. After the clay is at a temperature you can handle, keep softening it with your hands.

Turn on the blow dryer at a warm, not hot, temperature. Blow onto the clay until it is warm. If it is not heating up to your liking, turn up the temperature. Remember to keep softening the clay in your hands so that it does not cool and harden again.

Method 2
Using oil

Add a small amount of baby oil to the clay. Don't add too much though, as too much makes it sticky. Just add a tiny, tiny bit at a time

Tips

  • You can also cut the clay into tiny pieces, then squish it back together.
  • To prevent having clay become hard again, seal it in a resealable bag, making sure all the air is pushed out.

Warnings

  • Do not put clay into microwave longer than 3 seconds at a time. It will cook and harden rapidly if in too long.
