    Find and purchase the right quality of ginger. One that is thick and has many branches works best. Also the natural aroma of the ginger should be very strong.

    Know what kind of chopping you want. There are choices like- mincing, balling, slicing thickly, slicing thinly, making a paste, powdering, slicing, etc.

    Now, cut the ginger into exact half, and remove all branches.

    Start by putting the knife on the edge of the ginger and putting pressure on the knife so that it goes thinly through the thickness of the ginger. Remember, the more distance there will be between the knife and the edge of the ginger the thicker would the pieces be, and the less the distance the thinner the pieces. Continue till the whole ginger is into round thin pieces. Do the same with all branches.
