How to Side Manual

Have you always wanted to do a side manual, but have no idea of how to go about doing it? Or, maybe you have no idea of what one is. Well, a side manual is when you ride your skateboard on two wheels, but on the side, not the back. Please use the suggestions and tips in this article to help you when trying to master this trick.

Steps

    Practice balancing on the two side wheels of your skateboard until you have a pretty good sense of balance. This can be done while in a stationary posture.

    Stand on your board in a regular riding position. While you are riding, lean back on your heels. Make sure that two wheels on your toe side edge lift up, but don't tip over.

    Continue rolling. You may start turning as you're rolling because of how your weight is distributed, which is fine.

    Lean forward (to your toe side) to set the board back down.

Tips

  • As with any manual, balance is important.
  • Side manuals take a lot of practice, so don't get frustrated.
  • Leaning on your toes may be easier because you will be able to just step off the board if you're leaning to far.
