How to Rotate a Video in Adobe Premiere Pro

Quite often, you get the video the wrong direction. Usually, this happens when someone has a new phone and hasn't figured out which way was up! Luckily, in Adobe Premiere Pro, rotating the video isn't hard.

  1. 1
Start a project in Adobe Premiere Pro and import your video to it.
  2. 2
If you don't already have your video in the program, import your media (your video).

Once you have it in your project tab, drag it to the timeline.
  4. 4
Go to the Effects Control tab.
  5. 5
Locate the Rotation option. It will be under Motion. Change the number. To get you started, here are some basic angles.
    • Video needs rotated right (CW): 45 degrees
    • Video needs rotated left (CCW): 270 degrees
    • Video is upside down: 90 degrees
  6. 6
Watch the video after you rotate it. The video will be rotated sideways, but you will lose some of it in the transition.
  7. 7
Consider changing the scale to a smaller number, like 75 %. This will allow you to keep more of the video right on screen.
