How to Roll Trick Marijuana Joints

Have you mastered rolling normal joints and want a challenge? Try giving these trick joints a try!

Method 1
Rolling a Tulip Joint

Tulip Joints are most commonly found in Europe. While they look complicated to roll, they are actually fairly simple. These make a nice present for a toker girl you’re trying to impress.[1]

  1. 1
Make a roach about the size of a pencil. Cut the glue strips from some papers to seal it.
  2. 2
Make a cone by gluing two papers together to make a square or rectangle. Fold one corner of the square diagonally to the opposite corner, just before the glue strip starts. Fold down the glue strip and seal it to make a flat cone. Cut any excess if you want to.
  3. 3
Fill your cone. Open up the cone and fill it with your preferred mix.
  4. 4
Pinch the sides of the opening closed and gather the edges together, like wrapping a bottle of booze.
  5. 5
Place the roach into the opening and then tie them together, either with a rubber band, the glue strip from a paper, or some dental floss.

Method 2
Rolling a Saturday Night Special

These are a great, basic joint to roll, especially if the buzz from one joint isn't enough for you. These are double the length of a normal joint but you have to remember: their length makes them a bit more delicate. Be careful.[2]

  1. 1
Glue two papers together, short end to short end, so that the glue strips form a single, straight line.
  2. 2
Glue a third paper at the center, covering the overlapping line. This third paper will help make it stronger. Or, for less paper in your joint, simply fold the third rolling paper in half so that you have a glue strip on the outside of each side of it, lick it, and place it vertically between the overlapping part of the two papers, using the glue to stick them together and strengthen the joint.
  3. 3
Roll the rest of the joint as you normally would, either straight or in a cone.

Method 3
Rolling a Nose Cone

If you want a joint that looks like something out of a cartoon, you want a Nose Cone. These place a weed filled cone at the end of a cone-shaped joint for an impressive looking joint.[3]

  1. 1
Make a cone, just like is described above for the Tulip Joint. Don’t pinch the opening closed, though.
  2. 2
Make a cone shaped joint by wrapping the paper around the roach tighter and at an angle. Don’t make it too angled, though. You might need to practice. The width of the opening at the end of the cone joint should be the same as the cone you made earlier.
  3. 3
Glue the cone ends together and seal them with the glue strips cut from other papers.

  • When filling a Tulip Joint or the cone for a Nose Cone, it may be easier if you sit it in a tall shot glass to fill it, rather than trying to hold it and fill it. Just don't knock the glass over!
  • If rolling a Tulip Joint or a Nose Cone, you can always cut excess paper to make the edge and opening even and flat.

  • Never smoke and drive. Much like alcohol, marijuana can reduce your reaction time. You don’t want any blood on your hands.
  • Follow the marijuana laws for your location. Marijuana is more legal in some places than in others, and even in the places where it is legal the laws can be very complex.
