How to Remove Thorns from Roses Safely

Removing thorns from roses can be dangerous and painful. A prick from a rose thorn can easily become infected but If you do it right it can be perfectly safe.
Steps
Method 1 With a knife
- 1Get a sharp knife. If your knife isn't sharpened, please do so. Using a dull knife requires you to use more pressure. The blade can slip and you can get cut.
- 2Get the roses you are going to remove thorns from. If the roses have thorns on them, you can safely remove them.
- 3Slide your sharp knife under the thorn slowly and carefully. Be sure not to slice the rose stem itself. as this can harm the rose and you could end up cutting yourself.
- 4Repeat this process until you have removed all the thorns from the stem that will be under water.

Method 2 With clippers
Warnings
- Only use sharp tools and be careful not to hurt yourself.
- Don't remove thorns that will be above the water line, this will shorten the vase life.
