How to Put a Photo on a Vanilla Forum

If you are inserting an image into a Vanilla forum, you can't use the old tricks you mastered on ancient PHPbb forums. Fortunately, using Vanilla is easier.

Steps

  1. Image titled Put a Photo on a Vanilla Forum Step 1

    Go to the Vanilla forum you want to put the image into and enter HTML code into the comment box. (Do not use the BB code common on other forum systems.)
    • For example, some common HTML image formats might look like any of the following examples which will all produce the same image:
      • <code><img src="../http://farm1.static.flickr.com/83/222360303_4e21b5c26a.jpg"></code>
      • <code><img src="../http://farm1.static.flickr.com/83/222360303_4e21b5c26a.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="Wives and Flowers photoshoot"/></code>
      • <code><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/mandolinn/222360303/" title="Wives and Flowers photoshoot by mandolin davis, on Flickr"><img src="../http://farm1.static.flickr.com/83/222360303_4e21b5c26a.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="Wives and Flowers photoshoot"/></a></code>
  2. Image titled Put a Photo on a Vanilla Forum Step 2

    Click 'preview'.

    Click 'submit'.

Tips

  • Once you get the hang of it this is much easier than using the BB code found on PHPbb and other forums.
  • If the Vanilla forum you are using has the WYSIWYG editor installed, you can also press the image icon to assist you in the process.
