On a vacation to India, the immune system of a tourist can be hurt temporarily. This is mainly due to the differences in food and climate.

    Always have some non perishable snacks and bottled water with you. Drinking water that is from the tap is bad for you because it is untreated. Even if locals do it, remember that your immune system is not like theirs. The non perishable snacks will work in case the food is not right.

    Stay at a trustworthy place. Avoid any red light districts and bad alleys. For a first timer, try a westernized five star hotel. Food quality is better here.
