Make sure you have some good guns. This Article is meant as a guide for fields or arenas and isn't intended for the use of backyard airsoft.

You don't want to go into the battlefield with only a spring pistol. An AEG, also known as an Airsoft electric gun, is recommended.

Make sure to wear some sort of camouflage! Hunting camo works very well if your are fighting in a forest or in the woods, however airsoft is a Military Simulation sport, so wear some sort of military camouflage. Tips

  • Make sure you have plenty of ammo.
  • If you are inexperienced, ask someone for a tip. For example, if you're lost, just casually ask for which way to go.
  • If you can, download a map of the field. This is a great way to get some initial recon on a location you have never played at before.
  • A spring rifle makes for a great fall-back in case you don't have any spare batteries for your AEG.
  • If you can, go with one of your teammates to the airsoft field and play each other a few times and get used to where some good hiding spots are. At the end of every war, do not tell any opponent about any cover, bunkers, hiding places, etc., as this gives them an opportunity to use the hiding spot against you in the next match, and also gives them a better chance in finding you.
  • Keep your batteries charged! If you have one battery and you forget to charge it, your airsoft gun is of no use! Also, remember to bring extra batteries and ammo.
  • If you are playing a night game, pack a headlight and some extra batteries
  • Consider investing just a little money into gloves, or head protection, because getting shot on your knuckles or on top of your head really hurts!
  • If possible use a sound suppressor, as this helps if you don't want to draw attention to yourself or if you want to stay in one particular place the whole round.
  • Clean your guns the night before. A little bit of dirt in your barrel can have a significant effect on your accuracy the next day.

Warnings

  • Wear proper eye protection.
  • Be sure that you understand the rules. Airsoft fields may have specific limits on your guns FPS (Feet Per Second, how fast the pellet travels) or on how close you can be to a person you shoot.
