Fill the pitcher half way full with a combination of your own choice of drinks. Try not to include too many drinks with a high alcohol content if you're planning to continue drinking all night.

Cover the top of the pitcher with cling film. Make sure it's secure and fairly tight, so it won't collapse too easily.

Place the coin on the cling film. It can be off centre, depending on how difficult you want it to be to make the coin drop.

Pass the pitcher around clockwise, with each person having to pierce a hole in the cling film. The aim of the game is not to let the coin drop into the drink. When someone makes a cut and the coin drops, they must drink the drink in the pitcher.

Tips

  • You can make any size hole you want; the daring players often make big holes at the beginning to make the game harder for others, while the more cautious players tend to make small jabs around the edges.
  • If the loser wants they can choose a drinking buddy, normally the person next to them, to share the drink with them.
  • If the loser is your designated driver or just wants to stay sober, they can nominate a friend to drink for them.

Warnings

  • Always drink responsibly
  • Don't be bullied into drinking if you don't want to.
  • Be careful with the device you use to poke! Intoxicated people and knives is probably not a good or safe mix.

Things You'll Need

  • A mixture of alcohol drinks
  • A glass pitcher
  • Cling film
  • A coin (1p or 5p is best)
  • A small poking device like a toothpick
