How to Play Super Score Ball

Two Parts:Setting UpPlaying

As a fun new sport, Super Scoreball is a cross between soccer and volleyball. It is fun to play and easy to learn, here's how to play.

Part 1
Setting Up

  1. 1
Find a place to play. Super Scoreball is a high-scoring game which can be played both indoors and outdoors, on any existing athletic surface. Ideally, the game is played on a full-size soccer field, or on a walled-in indoor arena, where the ball can be played off the walls for a fast-paced, action-packed game.
  2. 2
Set up the field units. There is one field unit at each end of the field. Field units consists of two towers, one attached to each side of the net. The towers are twelve feet high. Each tower has a canted opening at the top. When the ball is tossed into the opening, it rolls downward, and exits at the bottom of tower, rolling into the net.
    • For safety reasons, care should be taken to ensure the towers are firmly attached to the net, and also anchored into the ground with tie-downs in case of wind gusts which could knock them over.
  3. 3
Split into teams. This game is played with two teams of 8-16 people.

Part 2

  1. 1
Start the first campaign. Super Scoreball is divided into 3 periods called campaigns.
    • The first campaign is started off with a tug of war in the center of the playing field. An equal numbers of players, not just the starters, participate in the tug of war. Whichever team wins this contest, earns first possession of the ball.
  2. 2
Have all active players stand in the center of the field. The Tower Watch (goalie) from the team that won the tug of war stands at the left tower on the other team's goal and attempts to kick the ball into the goal. If they score, they can shoot again from the right tower. If they miss, the ball is live.
  3. 3
Have both teams move the ball up and down the field by kicking it, like in soccer. However, if the ball is kicked up in the air, and then caught by a player on offense, the player who caught it is allowed to move up to three steps while dribbling, as in basketball. Then the player must attempt a shot on the tower, or pass the ball to a teammate. The ball may not be picked up off the ground. Defensive players may not catch the ball.
  4. 4
Score a goal. A successful toss into the tower opening is worth three points. A successful kick into the into the net is good for two points.

  • This is a very physical game.
  • Avoid complaining. The refs don't feel like hearing you run your mouth.
