Work out how many guests you want to invite and make a guest list. You may want to have some of your closest friends or perhaps some people from your school class.
    • This will also depend on where your party is located; home, at a local park, fun fair, circus, maybe the beach? There are so many ideas, but remember if you're planning on having the party outside, to have a backup plan, just in case of weather changes.

Pick the date and time. Make sure the date gives enough notice for your guests. You can't invite people to a party the day before! Two weeks is usually plenty of notice. And make sure you decide on a start and finish time.

Choose the food you will make! Chocolates, lollies and all things sweet and in heart shapes!!! Just make to find out if any of your guests are vegetarian or have food allergies. Make a list of the ingredients you'll need to buy. Also, see what can be made one or two days before your party, to help save a bit of time on the day. And don't forget the birthday cake.

To help you get organized before the party, you might need to make two lists: 'Things to buy' and 'Things to do'. Try to do as much on the lists ahead of time as possible so there isn't a last-minute panic on the day of the party. Put the lists in a place where everyone can see it, like on the fridge. This will help everyone remember what needs to be done before the big day.

When the time comes to hand out invitations, decide if you want to make your own or buy them. You can find some great ones in newsagents and party supply store. You'll need to send or give them out at least two weeks before the party. The invitations will need to have the following information: who's party it is, the day date and the time of the party including start and ending time of the party, the address and a phone number for RSVP. (Make sure to tell them that it's for Valentine's Day!!! <br
