How to Personalize Your Microsoft Surface

The Microsoft Surface is the newest tablet released by Microsoft. Unlike other Microsoft devices, the Surface has different settings that can be confusing to some users. One of the hardest options to find is the personalization settings, which are very important to many users. This guide shows the easiest way to find and change those settings.

Method 1
Your Account Picture

    The first step in changing your account picture is to open the settings window. This window is accessible by swiping from the right of the screen and selecting the Settings option.

    Now look to the bottom right of the settings screen. Select the Change PC settings option.

    This will take you to the PC Settings window. To access your account picture, look to the top right of the screen, and select the Account Picture option.

    From here, it's up to you. You can choose a saved picture by clicking Browse, or create a new account picture.

Method 2
Your Lock Screen

    To change your lock screen picture, you'll need to once again use the Settings option. Then click on the Change PC Settings option.

    Once again, you're back at the PC Settings window. The option to personalize your lock screen is already selected.

    Similarly to account picture, you have to option to choose a saved photo for your lock screen. You can also select one of the default photos as well.

Method 3
Your Start Screen

    Changing your start screen picture is almost the same process as changing your account picture or lock screen. As before, the Settings and Change PC Settings options are used.

    After following the necessary steps, look to the top middle of your screen. Select the Start screen option.

    Unlike the account picture and lock screen, you cannot choose a custom photo for your start screen. Instead, you can choose from a variety of colors and background patterns.

    Now it's your choice. You can mix and match colors and backgrounds as often as you like, or until you find one that works for you.
