Consider the climate at your destination. Is it cold? Hot? Are you just sightseeing, or are you climbing mountains? Your answers will dictate the clothing needed. Generally, a short trip only warrants a couple of changes of clothes. Consider whether you'll be buying additional clothes while on holiday, and leave space accordingly

Tips

  • Wrap dubious items like sunscreen in plastic bag, to prevent them opening in transit and ruining your clothes
  • Rolling clothes saves more space than folding them
  • Put shoes in separate plastic bags, that way, the dirty shoes won't get the clean ones messy!
  • If you are travelling on an airplane, make sure you weigh your bag. Usually it's 20 kilograms for a suitcase and 5 kilograms for a bag on board. The weight may vary and it can be found on your ticket.
  • If your suitcase has additional pockets, use them to store smaller items (underwear, hat, cosmetics)
  • Tuck smaller items between clothes, to maximize space

Things You'll Need
