How to Organize Your Flash Drive
If you own a flash drive that is frequently used, you may have noticed it gets very cluttered with files. This should help clean it up in no time!
Steps
- 1Delete useless files. Most flash drives have 1/4 of their memory filled with useless files. Doing so will free some memory and clear some clutter.
- 2Make folders. Make a specific folder for each kind of file such as photos, Microsoft office documents, videos, music etc. This will make finding a file much easier
- 3Move all the files into their matching folder. To move the file just drag it into the folder.
- 4Keep it organized. Set your computer to automatically save that kind of file to its matching folder.
Tips
- Make sure to name your file for an easier find.
Warnings
- Don't delete important files. Some flash drives may contain files necessary to keep programs stored on your flash drive to run. If you're unsure about deleting a file, leave it alone, or look up its function on a search engine.
