wikiHow to Make Your Own Universe

Have you ever wanted a place of your own, other than your room? Perhaps you want to be somewhere more interesting? Follow these easy steps to create a fully customizable, changeable world, controlled by and made by you.

  1. Image titled Many galaxies Step 1
Draw out as many galaxies and galactic spirals as you want. They may make a maze, or may all lead to the same thing, maybe they all lead to their own universe, but whatever it is, make them into interesting shapes: swirly, and multicolored. This is your Base Universe, also known as a Multiverse.
  2. Image titled Draw planets Step 2
Once that's done, pick a galactic spiral, and draw planets. Draw as many or as few as you want, from 1-20 is recommended, but you can cram as much as 80 on a piece of paper. Their size, color and shape should vary too. Also, make it so that there is some source of light or something in the center, or on one side. Maybe there are more than one, or maybe it made out of ice, or fire, or wind, or rock, or maybe there's just a bunch of miniature ones floating around.
  3. Image titled Map Step 3
Make a map of one of the planets. It should have continents, oceans, lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, deserts, and anything else you can imagine. You can even separate the land into countries and cultural regions, or have landmarks that locals have identified.
    • You can either get really detailed, or go to another planet, solar system, galaxy, and so on until they're all done. Repeat these steps as necessary and then go on.
  4. Image titled Populate your planet Step 4
Populate your planets. Choose genetic races for your species, which may be regional. They may all be like humans, or they may be entirely new creatures. There may be a mix of different species or one dominant species that has killed off everything else. Whatever they are, make sure that they have things to eat, water to drink, and a sustainable habitat. Don't put something with no legs and arms in the middle of the ocean if it has lungs. Give gills, not lungs, to oceanic lifeforms.
  5. Image titled Some plants Step 5
Imagine some plants. Maybe they have berries, or lots of leaves, or maybe they are carnivorous. Whatever they are, make them interesting. Create some edible and non-edible plants. Besides trees, create shrubs, grasses, vines or anything else you can think of. You can even create some plants that have certain effects when ingested. Creating potions or medicines from various plants could be an interesting part of your worlds!
  6. Image titled Some details Step 6
Add some details, like religions, commonly played games, useful items/tools, jobs, and other things of the such.
  7. Image titled Main planet Step 7
You could also make a main planet that is your home. On this planet, you can command new buildings to be built or take over countries or even other planets, making your planet into a big strategy game.

  • A little role-playing goes a long way!
  • You can use dice, like in Dungeons and Dragons, when you attack other countries or planets. For example, you can take turns rolling dice between you and your enemy to represent kills between the two sides. You can even add more dice as your armies grow, giving you more power.
  • Enjoy your universe!
  • Make things moderately balanced to extend the life of your worlds.
