Two Methods:Cat or dog biscuitsPeanut butter dog biscuits

The great thing about making your own cat or dog biscuits is that you know what's in them and don't have to have your heart leap into your mouth every time there's a recall notice on pet food. Also, you can tailor them to kitty's or pooch's favorite flavors.

Ingredients

Cat or dog biscuits:

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered skim milk (milk contains lactose which can be harmful to cats)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (keeps away the fleas but it can hurt cats)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Flavoring - enough to turn into a stiff dough:
    • Meat drippings; or
    • Broth; or
    • Water from canned tuna or other fish; or
    • Juices from canned meat
    • Canned salmon or tuna (optional)

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
