How to Make Quick Chilli, Garlic and Herb Pasta

Make this quick yet very tasty pasta dish for a healthy meal that will keep everyone happy. It doesn't have too many ingredients but the ones it does have make it just perfect. Follow the recipe to make chilli, garlic and herb pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • Two garlic cloves
  • Chilli (optional)
  • Handful or fresh parsley and/or basil (if this is not available, you can use dried)
  • Pasta
  • Oil
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • Mozzarella (optional)

Part 1
Preparing the ingredients

    Dice the onion. Using a small, sharp knife, finely dice one onion. Put this to the side.

    Prepare the garlic. Finely chop or crush two garlic cloves. You don't want big chunks of garlic in your completed dish.

    Chop a chilli to make a spicy sauce. After you have done this, wash your hands thoroughly.

    Chop a handful of fresh parsley and/or basil. If this is not available, you can use dried.

Part 2
Preparing the pasta and sauce

    In a pan of lightly salted boiling water, cook the pasta until done to your preference. Average time for dried spaghetti is 10 minutes. (This type of pasta works best.)

    Heat some oil in a big frying pan. Sweat the onions with the lid on for 5 minutes until slightly pale.

    Add in the garlic and chilli. Fry.

    Drain the pasta.

    Into your onion mix, put in 3 1/2 tablespoons of tomato paste. Stir.

    Tip in the pasta and mix thoroughly.

    Put the herbs in and crumble some mozzarella (optional).

    Stir the sauce through the pasta. Serve immediately.

Tips

  • When using chilli, wash your hands after with a little olive oil to soak up some heat and to have oily hands.
