How to Make Panch Phora



This is a spice mixture used in Indian cookery, such as curry and vegetable dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp brown mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp nigella seeds
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp fenugreek seeds

    Gather all the 5 ingredients.

    Combine all of them in a bowl and mix well.

    Store in an airtight container. It will keep for up to a year.

    Use. Panch Phoran is usually added to the hot oil at the beginning of the cooking process. This enables it to flavour the oil.

Tips

  • This recipe will make the equivalent of 5 tablespoons.
