How to Make Olive Oil and Rosemary Grissini

Grissini are baked breadsticks of Italian origin. They are great snacks and go well with dips.


This recipe makes around 20 grissini.

Ingredients

  • 220g flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (and extra for glazing)
  • 120ml water
  • 1 tablespoons dried rosemary (and extra for sprinkling)

Steps

    Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF. Spread the baking (parchment) paper across the baking tray (sheet).

    Mix the ingredients together in the mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer if preferred.

    Knead the dough for 5 minutes.

    Divide the dough into 20 even pieces. Roll them into long, thin sausages.

    Place them evenly across the baking tray (sheet).

    Brush each grissini with the extra olive oil.

    Sprinkle each grissini with rosemary.

    Place in the preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes or until the grissini turn a light golden brown.

    Remove from the oven. Allow to cool on a wire cooling rack, sitting on the tray.
