How to Make Monster Toes (Halloween Treat)

Monster toes straight from the monster's feet to your table! How is this possible?! It's a simple and tasty treat that will be loved by kids at Halloween.

Ingredients

  • Savory cookie dough (e.g., a butter, olive oil, cheese etc., based dough without sugar content) of choice (make your own or purchase dough from local bakery)
  • Green food coloring
  • Ketchup
  • Cocktail sausages
  • Black olives, halved, or small sliced cocktail sausage rounds (this might be preferable for younger children who don't like the strong taste of olives)

Steps

    Mix the dough as per instructions, adding the green food coloring to make a green dough.

    Preheat the oven to 350ºF/180ºC.

    Roll out the cookie dough. Use a glass to make circular shapes from the dough.

    Squirt a little ketchup onto each cut round.

    Wrap the cut round around a cocktail sausage. Bring the edges together to meet and stick a toothpick through to hold together during baking.

Tips

  • Use vegetarian cocktail sausages if preferred.
  • Your monster doesn't have to have green toes; this is just a standard monster color. Use any color you like!
