How to Make Mixed Spice



Where would a pantry be without some mixed spice? It's even better when you've made it fresh yourself. This delicious combination of spices is suitable for desserts, cakes, puddings, biscuits, cookies and some savory dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp coriander, ground
  • 1 tsp nutmeg, ground
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, ground
  • 1/4 tsp allspice, ground
  • 1/4 tsp cloves, ground

Steps

    Grind the whole spices in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder.

    Add the spices to a bowl.

    Place into an airtight storage container. You should aim to use up the mixed spice within two months.
