How to Make Healthy Infused Water

To enhance the health benefits of drinking water, infuse your drink with natural herbs and teas. Different herbs have distinct benefits that can help from weight loss to healthy skin.

    Burn extra fat by combining green tea leaves, mint leaves and 1 or 2 cut limes in a jar. Add water and top with lid. Place in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes.
    • Strain infused water through a strainer (into a glass pitcher) and serve. Or drink directly from the mason jar with chunky fruit and herbs.

    Boost immune system, protect your heart and regulate blood sugar with strawberry and kiwi. Cut up approximately 10 strawberries and 4 kiwi fruits and place in mason jar. Cover with spring water and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
    • Drink directly from the jar as the fruit will start to dissolve and become integrated into the water.

    Control bloating, appetite and aid in digestion with a refreshing cucumber, lime and lemon drink. Slice 3 cucumbers, 2 limes and 2 lemons. Place in mason jar and cover with water. Allow drink to infuse for up to an hour before drinking.

    Extinguish heartburn and boost your immunity with a lemon, lime and orange drink. Cut up an equal number of lemons, limes and oranges (approximately 3 or 4). Add to water and then place in the refrigerator (covered) for 30 minutes.
    • Strain water through strainer into a pitcher, making sure to retrieve any seeds.

    • Add fruit back into water (without seeds) and serve.

  • Distilled or spring water
  • Large glass jar(s) with lid(s)
  • Ingredients such as green tea leaves, mint, lime, cucumber, lemon, strawberry, kiwi and orange.
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Strainer
  • Glass pitcher

Tips

  • Drinking infused water is a not a magic bullet cure/trick so enjoy in addition to any advice from your physician.
  • For a “spicy” fall-like version infuse with apples, ginger and cinnamon sticks. This combination can help with digestion and sour stomach.
