How to Make Grocery Bag Pom Poms

Have you ever wanted to make "fancy" pom poms? You can do that easily with grocery bags.

Steps

    Place a stack of 7 bags on a flat surface.

    Draw a line 30 centimeter (11.8 in) above the base of the bag and parallel to it. Use your ruler and pen to do so.

    Cut along the lines. Remove the top of the bag, including the handles.

    Starting at the open end, cut about 20 centimeter (7.9 in) down the depth of the bag, stopping about 10 centimeter (3.9 in) from the bottom. Repeat this across the whole width of the bag to form strips about 2 centimeter (0.8 in) apart.

    Repeat the process with all of your bags.

    Gather the prepared bags, holding them at the uncut bases. Scrunch the uncut parts together and secure by wrapping with Sellotape.

Tips

  • The strips don't have to be exactly straight.
  • Use big grocery bags.
  • Try not to use less than 4 bags.
  • You can cross stack the bags to make thicker pom poms.

  • 6 or 10 bags per Pom-pom
  • A ruler
  • Scissors
  • A felt tip pen
