How to Make Funny Bunny Slippers

Do you want to make your existing slippers look much cuter than they are now? This article will teach you how to transform your plain slippers into silly-but-cute rabbits you can wear!

  1. Image titled GetItems Step 1
Assemble the items needed for the project. These are listed below under "Things You'll Need". It can be helpful to also draw a pattern that outlines how you plan aligning the pieces on the slippers before starting, and then using this pattern to guide your work.
  2. Image titled CutColoredFelt Step 2
Cut the colored felt. Draw two sets of ears and two muzzles and use these paper templates to help cut out the shapes neatly from the felt.
  3. Image titled GlueIt Step 3
Use craft glue or a glue gun to attach the felt pieces to the slippers. Attach the muzzles to the front. Add the ears about an inch or two (2-5cm) from the front end of the shoe, aligning them each side of the foot.
  4. Image titled AttachEyes Step 4
Attach buttons for eyes using craft glue or glue gun. The buttons should be located under the eyes but above the muzzle. If you have googly eyes as shown in the image, then use these as they look the best!
  5. Image titled MakeWhiskers Step 5
Cut embroidery floss to make two sets of whiskers. Use craft glue or the glue gun to attach the whiskers under the button noses.
  6. Image titled TieRibbons Step 6
Tie four ribbon bows. Attach with craft glue wherever you'd like them to appear; perhaps under the muzzle, on the ears, or in between the ears (on the imaginary top of the bunny's head).
  7. Image titled LetDry Step 7
Let dry. Once dried, the bunny slippers are now ready for wearing.

  • Choose the felt color and embroidery thread color dependent on which color your slippers are – if they are light pink, then use pink and hot pink felt; if they are blue use light blue and dark blue felt.
  • These make a great gift idea for an ordinary pair of slippers!

  • These aren't likely to put up with a lot of scuffing or bumping about. Wear with care or be prepared to glue things back on again if they fall off. It's not advised to wear these in the rain or through water.
