How to Make Eggnog Grog

Eggnog is a rich and delicious treat at any winter party. Sample it and help make your party rock.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups (475 ml) milk
  • 1/4 cup (50g) sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) bourbon
  • Alcohol (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla

    In a large saucepan beat together six eggs, stir in two cups of milk, a quarter cup of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of salt.

    Cook this over low heat, stirring constantly, be sure to get this in to the corner of your pan or else the eggs might curdle if it gets too hot. When the mixture reaches a 160 degrees, or when it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, remove it from the heat.

    Steadily add a cup and three quarters of bourbon and a third cup of dark rum, the alcohol is optional, but then again, it's a party!

    Stir in the remaining two cups of milk and a teaspoon of vanilla, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until it's thoroughly chilled.

    Just before serving, pour the concoction into your prettiest bowl or pitcher. Enjoy the treat!
