How to Make Chocolate Eggnog



Spruce up the usual eggnog by making a chocolate version. This one is deliciously Christmassy.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) chocolate syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups (300 mL) milk
  • 1 egg, separated
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp (12.5 grams) sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp (11 to 22 mL) rum (optional)

Steps

    Pour the chocolate syrup, milk and egg yolk into a jug.

    Beat together well until the yolk is thoroughly dispersed.

    Heat the mixture in a heavy-based saucepan until you can the mixture beginning to bubble around the edges. When the liquid has thickened slightly, it is ready to serve.
