How to Make Broad Bean Pate

A tasty paté that's ideal for parties—especially when you’re expecting vegetarian guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg broad beans
  • 120 g cream cheese (use a vegan/non-dairy version if making for vegans)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground

Steps

    Shell the broad beans.

    Place in pot with water to cover. Cook until tender.

    Drain. Leave to cool until warm.

    Add to a blender or food processor. Pour in the remaining ingredients.

    Blend all ingredients together.

    Remove using a spoon or spatula. Pack into a serving bowl.

    Chill for at least a half hour in the fridge. Cover with clingfilm to protect it from fridge odors.

    Serve. Serve with raw vegetables, crackers, and toasted bread fingers.
