How to Make Bounty Bars

Always wondered how Bounty bars are made? Well, wonder no more! This isn't the exact recipe, but it is very similar, and tastes just as nice!

Ingredients

  • 350g of desiccated coconut
  • 350g of icing sugar
  • 400g tin of condensed milk
  • Chocolate (2 bars will be enough)
  • A bowl
  • A sieve (if you have one)
  • A loaf tin
  • Plastic wrap

Steps

    First, you should make the filling. Pour the condensed milk in to a large bowl. Sift the icing sugar using the sieve (If you don't have one, just tip it in slowly).

    Add the desiccated coconut, and stir until there are no dry bits left.

    Line a loaf tin with some plastic wrap (make sure there is some plastic wrap hanging over the sides, this would come in handy later).

    Put in the mixture you made.

    Put the mixture in the fridge and leave overnight.

    When it is morning, take the loaf tin out of the fridge. The mixture should be hard by now, like the inside of a Bounty.

    Lift the mixture out of the loaf tin using the plastic wrap hanging over the sides.

    Take the plastic wrap off and cut the mixture into small, bite-size blocks.

    Melt some chocolate.

    When the chocolate is melted, one by one, roll the blocks into the chocolate.

    When you're all done, leave the chocolate to set on the blocks.

Tips

  • After rolling the blocks in chocolate, why not roll them in hundreds and thousands? Or chocolate sprinkles?

Warnings

  • Be careful while melting the chocolate.
